CAN ANYONE GET HIGH-DOSE VITAMIN C?
High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy is administered under the supervision of licensed medical professionals and is tailored to your individual wellness goals, providing essential immune support.
You must be 18 or older to receive High-Dose Vitamin C treatment.
We will not infuse High-Dose Vitamin C to anyone who is G6PD deficient, has severe chronic kidney disease (eGFR <30ml/min), has hemochromatosis or any iron overload disorder, or to anyone who has a hypersensitivity to Ascorbic Acid.
High-Dose Vitamin C is rarely given to the elderly, pregnant, or breastfeeding patients, and those with a history of oxalate kidney stones, diabetes, or renal impairment.
High-Dose Vitamin C IV Therapy infusions may not be suitable for everyone, so a brief telehealth visit with one of our providers will be required prior to the administration of High-Dose Vitamin C, along with mandatory G6PD lab testing to ensure safety and effectiveness.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY VITAMIN C IS LOW?
The best way to determine your Vitamin C level is through a blood test. Without this test, if you experience certain symptoms, it might indicate low Vitamin C, which can negatively impact your immune support. These symptoms include fatigue, muscle weakness, joint and muscle aches, swollen or bleeding gums, easy bruising, dry scaly skin, and slow wound healing. If you suspect a deficiency, consider discussing vitamin C treatment options, including IV therapy, with your healthcare provider.
DOES HIGH-DOSE VITAMIN C INFUSION TAKE LONGER?
Sometimes, YES! A high-dose Vitamin C infusion, which is a popular option for immune support, typically takes 60-120 minutes, depending on the dose and the individual’s tolerance. Lower doses (10-25 grams) may take about 1 hour, while higher doses (up to 50 grams or more, administered under medical supervision) can take up to 2 hours or longer during IV therapy to ensure a safe infusion.
The slower infusion rate allows your body to absorb the Vitamin C effectively while minimizing the risk of discomfort, such as vein irritation or lightheadedness. Each session is performed in a comfortable setting and monitored by medical staff to ensure safety and optimal results.

WHY DO I NEED A G6PD LAB TEST DONE?
Before receiving high-dose Vitamin C infusions, defined as doses higher than 10 grams of Vitamin C, a G6PD (Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase) test is required to ensure safety during IV therapy. This simple blood test checks for a genetic enzyme deficiency that affects how red blood cells function.
Individuals with G6PD deficiency are unable to properly process high levels of Vitamin C, potentially leading to the breakdown of their red blood cells, a condition known as hemolysis. While this condition is rare, testing helps identify those at risk before proceeding with Vitamin C treatment.
By confirming that G6PD levels are normal, we can safely administer high-dose Vitamin C therapy, allowing it to deliver its full immune support and antioxidant benefits without complications.
